Privacy policy

Tensr (Pty) Ltd (“Tensr”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who we share it with and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- When you contact us or request a quotation: your name, email, phone number, company and the details you give us about what you need.
- When you reserve a shop item: your name, contact details, the item and how you'd like to receive it, including your suburb if you want delivery.
- When you send us a site from the website builder: your contact details and the site itself, including any text, photos and logo you added.
- When you use the chat: the messages you type, so we can answer them.
- Technical information: a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, used only to stop spam and abuse. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
We use your information to reply to you, prepare quotes, hold and sell items you reserve, publish websites you ask us to publish, provide the services you buy, and keep the website secure. We process it because you asked us to, to perform a contract with you, or for our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business. We won't send you marketing unless you ask for it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website, under agreements that require them to protect it:
- our website host and database provider, which store the information you send us;
- our email provider, which sends our replies and confirmations;
- Anthropic, which provides the AI that answers chat messages and writes website builder copy (only the text you type into those features is sent);
- Google Fonts, which supplies the website's typefaces and receives your IP address when the page loads;
- WhatsApp (Meta), only when you choose to message us there;
- couriers and payment providers, when you buy from us.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. We only use providers bound by data-protection laws or agreements that give protection similar to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and quotations for up to two years, and records of sales for as long as the law requires (for example, five years for second-hand goods records). We then delete or anonymise them.
On your device
The website builder saves your draft in your own browser so you don't lose your work, and the chat remembers whether you've seen its greeting. This stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@tensr.co.za. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
Information travels to us over encrypted connections and is stored with providers that use industry-standard security. Access to our admin system is limited and password protected.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change, and show the date of the latest version at the top.
